First LEAF

Check out this week's article on Earth911 on the First Nissan LEAFE owner.

"So why did he purchase the all-electric hatchback? Chalouhi was drawn to the car’s cutting-edge technology — the “cool factor,” he calls it – and the LEAF’s battery range worked with his commute."

"Chalouhi chose the Nissan LEAF over its competitor, the Chevy Volt, for the LEAF’s price and technology. Though both offset by a $7,500 federal tax credit, the LEAF is the cheaper of the two electric vehicles at $33,720, while the Volt starts at $41,000."

I was browsing through the Nat Geo last week and came across this very neat site. Project Noah was developed in 201 to "build the go-to platform for documenting all the world's organisms and...develop an effective way to measure Mother Nature's pulse".

I've recently joined and it's very nice. You have a chance to interact with other nature lovers and learn about different animal species and plants.

Water Filter Green Guide

A couple of months ago, we finally made the switch from bottled water to a water pitcher with built in filter. I knew this would be a major change and possibly have an adjustment period. I'm happy to report that it has been easier than I though and very convenient. We don't have to run to the grocery store every couple of days to buy water and we've reduced the amount of plastic used at home significantly.

Eco Friendly Style

I've been shopping online for Eco friendly product and came across these very nice purses. They are made from 100% natural cotton canvas and trimmed using vegetable tanned leather (vegetable tanned leather is tanned from ingredients found in vegetable matter, such as tree bark and other such sources).

Also check out Sherpani products. They make Eco friendly handbags, travel bags, laptop bags, gym bags, etc. which are made from recycled nylon, non toxic dyes, and natural fibers. I recently purchased the Pivo Cross Body Bag (67% Recycled Fabric) and I love it. It's very easy to clean and it's just the perfect size.
